This piece is inspired by the color of fireflies in a dark sky and a vivid Blue Moon spectacular in an autumn skyline. It is evocative of looking to the stars, inspiration, imagination, and reflection. Where have our dreams taken us and where shall we go from here?
The component of each tile is cut by hand and painted onto the surface with multiple layers of liquid adhesive and a gloss sealant. The corner eyelets were set by hand and each loop of gold rope was meticulously hand-braided with nine strands of metallic thread. The ends were knotted, trimmed and painted with sealant to prevent fraying. Each tile is approximately 3"x3" and the overall length is 19". There is an intentional front and back to the piece, but it can be displayed on either side or suspended so both sides are visible.
